Video Post Production Facility (VPPF)

With the advent of digital media, there is a growing partnership between art and technology in the field of advertising. The inception of the CAFA Video Post Production Facility (VPPF) came about to specifically answer the needs of the Department of Fine Arts. Being the guardian and mentor of future advertising professionals, the Department sees to it that students taking up the course must be able to experience actual production processes, complementing classroom instruction. The unit offers training programs in animation and video post production to students who are interested in specializing in these fields. These training programs are also offered to external clients and students who from other schools and universities. CAFA-VPPF primarily produces video and multi-media material for the University and outside clients. In keeping with the advances in digital video and animation technology, the unit offers special effects compositing, 3D animation for video applications, and motion graphics.

Special Objectives

CAFA-VPPF is mainly directing its development in four IT-related areas of production, which are as follows:

1. Multimedia Production, which involves the following software applications:

  • Macromedia Director
  • Macromedia Flash
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
2. Non-linear Video Post Production, which involves the following software applications/hardware platforms:
  • Adobe Premier
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Matrox RT2000 Real-time Native DV video hardware/software platform
  • Pinnacle DV500 Real-time Native DV video hardware/software platform

3. e-learning, which involves

  • Supporting the proposed online education program for the college
  • E-commerce
4. 2D and 3D Animation, which involves the following software applications:
  • Hash’s 3D Animation Master
  • Autodesk 3D Studio Max
  • US Animation (2D Animation)
  • Toon Boom Studio (2D Animation)
