  Admission Policy

The department has an open-door policy in accepting incoming freshmen, shiftees and transferees. However, applicants with below average results are placed on probationary for one semester. Probationary student performance is assessed after one semester. Thereafter, the applicant is required to take the entrance exam to be administered by Talamban Campus Testing Center.

  Retention Policy

A student is given three chances before being advised to shift to another course. Student with a failure of 1/3 of the total units enrolled is given an oral warning on the first offense. The Chairman of the Department will interview the student before enrolling in the following semester. The student will be placed on probationary for one semester. On the second offense student is advised to write a letter of reconsideration and an interview will be done together with the parent or guardian.

First Offense
Student with 1/3 failure in the total units enrolled is given an oral warning by the Department Chair and will be considered as first offense. The student will be placed on probationary for one semester and the academic performance will be assessed after the semester.

Second Offense
If the student will incur another 1/3 failure in the total units enrolled on the following semester, the student will be interviewed by the Department Chair together with the parent or guardian. Student is asked to write a letter of request for reconsideration to be noted by the parent or guardian. A second warning is given and will be placed on probationary. If failures are more than 1/3 of the total enrolled units student is advised to take only a limited number of load.

Third Offense
On the third offense of incurring 1/3 or more failure in the total units enrolled student is given his last chance. If and when the student’s performance is not satisfactory, one will be advised to shift to another course.
