Alumnus donates to CAFA fund

The College wishes to acknowledge, with deep appreciation, the recent contributions of Mr. Eric Ong (BS Arch 2002) of Ideal Builders and Mr. Danny Tan (BS Arch 1963) of Solid Construction to our scholarship fund.  These contributions are the second time both gentlemen have donated to the fund. Mr. Ong's most recent donation of P100,000.00 increases his total contribution to P200,000.00 while Mr. Tan's latest contribution of P50,000.00 raises his total donations to P150,000.00.   Both gentlemen own construction firms:  Mr. Tan owns Solid Construction, one of the more established firms in the city and Mr. Ong owns Ideal Builders, an up and coming firm that is fast making a name for itself with several recently completed and ongoing prestigious projects.

These donations go to a trust fund in the University treasury from which the college draws from time to time to help students of the college in financial straits.  The students are required to maintain a grade point average of 2.5, with failing grades.  They are expected to pay back the interest-free loans as soon as they find stable jobs and are able to.  With the initial payback expected in 2010, the fund will, God willing, be self-sustaining in two year's time.  Presently 4 students in various year levels are being supported by the fund.
