Architecture Computer Center (ACC)

The Architecture Computer Center (ACC) is the primary arm of the College for training, research, and services in information technology. It started in June 1992 in response to demands in professional practice in Architecture and Fine Arts for greater competence in handling high-tech production systems and materials.

The ACC trains students and professionals in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and other related computer softwares which are now basic requirements for employment here and abroad. Through its Service Bureau, it also offers computer and printing/plotting support services to students and professionals. Computer Research and Development is a function of the Center and is also a means for consolidating electronic data for the College.

The following are the objectives of the ACC:

  • To enable its clients to acquire sufficient competence and knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • To provide computer training to instructors, students, and professionals especially in CAD/CAE and other basic softwares.
  • To conduct research and development of computer softwares, products, and applications.
  • To offer professional support services as well as student services in terms of architectural and engineering encoding, printing, and production through a Service Bureau.
  • To provide consultancy services to other schools, organizations, government, and other entities in terms of computer-related training and development.
  • To acquire architectural/engineering data and be a repository of electronic data for the College.
  • To ensure continuous upkeep and upgrade of its computer equipment and softwares by becoming financially self-sustaining.
  • To become a venue for faculty, student, and professional interaction as well as an information technology knowledge center.
